The Four Houses of Wattlebrush:
At Wattlebrush, each new student is sorted into one of four Elemental Houses dedicated to the protection of an endangered native animal and their environment.
Wings
Guardians of the glossy black cockatoo, Wings students are creative thinkers, independent, and always ready for adventure. Their magical totem is the Skywhisper, a golden-blue bird whose song can calm cyclones and guide the lost.
Woodland
Protectors of the elusive long-nosed potoroo, Woodland House is home to resourceful builders and loyal friends. Their magical totem is the Numbuzzle, a creature that communicates with fungi to create harmony in the bush.
Waterways
Defenders of the Mary River turtle, Waterways students are adaptable, intuitive, and skilled at balancing logic with empathy. Their magical totem is the Turtidal, an eight-armed terrapin that manipulates water and creates protective bubble barriers for allies.
Wildfire
Bold and determined, Wildfire students protect the northern hairy-nosed wombat and embrace challenges with passion. Their magical totem is the Emberback, a glowing marsupial whose fiery droppings can brew the powerful Eternal Flame Elixir.
Each house unites students in their mission to protect nature and celebrate the magical connection between bushcraft and wizardry.
What Parents Are Saying
“My son and daughter attended the school holiday program run by Wattlebrush School of Bushcraft & Wizardry. They had a ball and are keen to return again next school holidays! Sophie runs a great program that keeps the kids engaged and my kids really enjoyed all the play and nature based activities.”
- James, Wiz-Kids aged 11 & 13
“Wow Walter and Charlotte had so much fun. How do you come up with those activities?! I wanted so badly to join in myself. I’ve been reading the books aloud to them and it was so fun to see them fall in love with the Wizard world and feel like they were at a real Hogwarts school.”
-Millie, Wiz-Kids aged 7 & 9
“The Wattlebrush school of bushcraft and wizardry is amazing. From engaging and creative leaders to hands-on creation of wands, potions, dragon eggs, and imaginative fun activities. It was a blast and the highlight of September school holidays. Highly recommend and we will be booking in again.”
-Simone, Wiz-Kid aged 9
“My Potterhead is convinced that Sophie is an actual witch. She told me that a tawny frogmouth will probably deliver her Hogwarts letter lol. Thank you for helping keep magic alive for her. I wish actual school was like this.”
-Tanya, Wiz-Kid aged 9
“A week at Wattlebrush School of Bushcraft & Wizardry was not long enough for my 9 & 12yos. Before the September week was over they were asking to be enrolled in the Summer session. Thanks for the awesome experience! ”

Wattlebrush FAQs
-
Nope, not at all. Wattlebrush is a great introduction to the wizarding world. We take inspiration from Hogwarts classes but the main focus of our camps is the magic around us every day.
-
We keep our numbers small, and friendship is one of our core values at Wattlebrush, so we aim to build a connection in a 3-day or week-long camp. We release a small number of single tickets closer to camp opening for families looking to join in for the day.
-
Our activities are based on the first three Harry Potter books, so we encourage around the same age range as Hogwarts first years: between 9 and 12 years old. If your kids are outside the age range but love Harry Potter please do get in touch. We can chat about whether our program might still be a magical fit for them! We’ve had many younger adventurers join us who taught older campers a thing or two about wizarding lore.
-
It's $350 for 3 day camps and $550 for the entire week. Each day is packed with 7 hours of immersive fun and learning! All materials are provided including personalised foraging bag, spell book and potions. Single day ticket prices are seasonal so make sure you check out our ticketing page for upcoming camps.
-
At Wattlebrush, we believe in deep discovery and real conversations. Our maximum group size is 15 enchanters, but depending on individual needs, we may cap it at 10. We want everyone to have the best experience possible!
-
We don't offer care after hours, but there's always someone onsite from 8am to 4pm. Our club hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm, with activities kicking off officially at 9am and winding down at 3pm.
-
Just bring your unconditional goodwill for those around you, food for the day (fridges are provided), a spirit of curiosity, sun protection, and hydration. We'll send a full guide with camp details before we kick off the magic! All materials for potions and spell crafting are provided.
-
We'll send a starter form to gather your child's comfort and safety requirements and make sure we can tailor an awesome experience. For accessibility, students need to be able to climb the cub den stairs with or without assistance. Many activities take place outdoors, so sun protection and weather-appropriate clothing are essential each day. We ensure all certifications, such as insurance, blue cards, and first aid, are current. Please keep in mind we spend a lot of time in nature and environmental kerfuffles like scratches and stings can occur. Luckily we are based at a Scout Hall and are always prepared.
